If you build your registry in Firefox, saving a gift used to mean the long way round: copy the product link, open your registry in another tab, paste it in, then go back to shopping. Plenty of people kept a bookmarklet on hand to speed that up. You can retire the workaround now.
The Add to EasyRegistry Button is available for Firefox on desktop. It saves gifts from any online store straight to your registry while you shop, with the same one-click flow Chrome users have had for a while. No copied links, no tab juggling, no bookmarklet.
What it does on Firefox
Shop any retailer's site the way you already do. When you find something you want, click the EasyRegistry button in your Firefox toolbar. A small card opens on the page with the product photo, price and other details already filled in. Choose the registry it belongs on, add a note for gift-givers if you want to, and click Add to registry. The gift lands on your list and you are back to browsing in seconds.
The Firefox build behaves the same way the Chrome one does:
- It works on any store. There is no approved-retailer list. A big department store, a small independent maker, a specialist pram shop: if you can open it in Firefox, you can add from it.
- You stay in control before saving. Change the quantity, price or title, pick a category, mark something as Most wanted, or keep a gift private so only you can see it.
- It only runs when you click it. The button sits idle until you press it. It does not read or track your browsing in the background.
- It is free. So is creating and sharing your registry.
Why both browsers now
Chrome came first because that is what most of our early testers were using. Firefox was the browser people asked for next, by a clear margin, so it was the obvious one to build. If you ever wrote to us asking for it, this release is for you.
A registry is only worth building if the list itself is quick to put together. The flexibility of a hybrid registry, where guests can buy a real gift, chip in on a group present, or add to a cash fund from one list, only pays off when adding items is painless. How to get it
- Open the Add to EasyRegistry Button on Firefox Add-ons and click Add to Firefox. It takes a couple of clicks.
- Pin it to your toolbar so the button is there whenever you need it.
- Sign in once with your EasyRegistry account, then shop anywhere and start adding.

The button runs in Firefox and Chrome on desktop. On a phone or in another browser, you can still add gifts by pasting a product link on your registry page.
